War

War

starring Jet Li and Jason Statham

War is a 2007 action/thriller film, directed by Phillip G. Atwell who makes his film debut, with fight choreography by Corey Yuen. The film was released in North America on August 24, 2007, and was rated R by the MPAA for "sequences of strong bloody violence, sexuality/nudity and language". The film stars Jet Li and Jason Statham making their second collaboration after the 2001 film The One. Statham plays an FBI agent determined to take down a mysterious assassin known as Rogue (Li), after his partner is murdered.

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor

Starring Jet Li

I had to admit—when I walked out the theater after a screening of "The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor" a few days ago, I could not remember the title, except the word "mummy" in it. This film is supposed to be the third installment in the "Mummy" series, despite the fact that there is no mummies in the emperor's tomb, except a Terracotta Army . The pretentious CGI work showing a goofy fight between the Terracotta Army and skeletons cannot save the weak script and thin characters.

First of Legend

First of Legend

Starring Jet Li

Before I get into the plot of this great story, I would be remiss if I didn’t talk a bit about the history that sets the stage. In 1937, the Imperial Japanese Army (IJA) invaded and attacked China. They started with Beiping and Tianjin, then reinforced and attacked Shanghai, eventually taking it after a hard fought battle with the Chinese. Over the next few years, fighting continued and horrible losses were suffered on all sides

Hero

Hero

Some movies are so overtly artistic that it takes away from the overall impact of the film. While "Hero" is a certainly an artistic movie, the creative aspects add to both the film's substance and meaning.

I must admit, this movie was quite a bit different than I expected. The previews made the movie look like an epic war of one man against several large armies. I had the feeling it would share a similar storyline with "The Last Samaurai." Well I was wrong on both accounts. "Hero" is about a warrior who fights for one reason, which isn't revealed until the end of the movie. The battle scenes are nearly all one-on-one battles, placing the focus on individuals, not on entire armies like most war movie

Unleashed(Danny the Dog)

Unleashed

Starring Jet Li and Morgan Freeman

Unleashed(Danny the Dog)

Jet Li plays Danny, a slave who is treated like a dog by his boss.

He has the mind of a child and there is only one thing he can really do, and do extremely well...FIGHT.

His boss Bart keeps Danny on a leash and collar and makes him fight in illegal gladiator style fights to earn huge money for him.

Until one day there is a car crash, Danny escapes and meets a kind elderly blind Piano tuner, who through his music shows Danny a world he never knew existed.

Of course the bad guys come after him and he must take them on to protect him and his new friend.

Of course superb matrial art scenes as always...a very enjoyable movie showing how cruel life can be.

Romeo Must Die

Romeo Must Die

Starring Jet Li and Aaliyah

Romeo Must Die and Cradle 2 the Grave are in my opinion Jet li's best movies.

They have fantastic story-lines and superb action scenes.

Jet Li plays Han Sing, a former cop in prison because he took a fall for his father and brother.

When he receives the news of his brothers death, he breaks out of prison and heads for the US.

He is introduced to the daughter Trish (Aaliyah) of a notorious crime boss.

Together they go on a journey to eventually find and kill Hans brothers murder.

Really a super movie!!!

Kiss of the Dragon

Kiss of the Dragon

Starring Jet li and Bridget Fonda

Jet Li plays a top secret chinese government agent Lui.

He arrives in Paris to assist with a drug-bust, but he happens to be in a place when a hooker gets killed and Lui gets blamed.

He has to run from bad guys and from the law, and works with his uncle to get a videotape to prove he is innocent.

He teams up with a witness to the murder (Bridget)
and together then have to withstand many bad guys who get in their way.

Some incredible martial arts scenes as to be expected and the technique called the Kiss of Death.

Lui uses a technique of sticking needles into the enemies body at certain places, parazlysing the enemy. The Kiss of Death is a needle stuck in the back of the neck in an exact place causing an incredibly painful death.

A fantastic movie but not for faint-hearted

CRADLE 2 THE GRAVE

CRADLE 2 THE GRAVE

Starring Jet Li and DMX

This is by far one of my favourite movies.
The story-line is fantastic and the action is incredible and explosive.

Dmx plays Faith, and together with his crew plans and executes a high security bank robbery.

Of course in the bank vault there are incredibly lethal items which are to be sold on the blackmarket by terrorists to the highest bidder.

Jet Li plays a secret agent who must recover the items and later teams up with DMX to take on the terrorists.

The filming is really fantastic and the stunts are AMAZING!!!!

Bikes, cars, banshees, tanks, cagefighting with Jet li vs over 8 hardcore wrestlers!!!!

Watch the clip below:)
Enjoy

THE FORBIDDEN KINGDOM

THE FORBIDDEN KINGDOM

Starring Jet Li and Jackie Chan

Initially set in the busy modern city life a teenager Jason, who is a bit of a nerdy type and gets bullied by jocks, is obsessed with kung-fu and frequently visits an old, blind chinese man's store to buy kung-fu movies.

One day after having bought a movie the bullies stop him, the main jock idiot beating up poor Jason and forcing him to take them to the old mans shop so they can rob it.

At the shop the blind man is robbed and shot, and in his last words he gives Jason a staff and tells him it must be returned to the Monkey King.

Here the adventure begins and Im not going to tell you any more of the story.

It is filled with fun, martial arts action and great scenery.

Jet Li plays the Monkey King and Jackie Chan is an immortal drunk warrior, they end up having a fansastic kung-fu duel which I could watch over and over again!

Not a fantastic story line but it has Jet Li AND Jackie Chan!! Definetly enjoyable:)

Jet li- Fearless

Fearless

Starring Jet Li

Based in old China, the main focus of the movie is about the Martial art Wushu, and the journey of becoming a Wushu master.

Jet li plays a wushu master in training, where he is young and very good at the martial art.

His downfall is that he is incredibly arrogant and does not posess the wisdom to be a true master.

He wishes to conquer instead of share and teach, and in a duel kills a respected martial arts master.

In a reciprocal act of vengance his family is killed and he spends years in a rural village to find himself.

He eventually manages to find that wisdom and set up a venture to share his wisdom with the world but alas there are villans involved who do not want the best for him.

A brilliant movie with incredible martial arts scenes.

jet li movies

A brilliant performer in the league of Bruce Lee, Chow Yun-Fat and Jackie Chan, Jet Li is one of the most respected figures in the genre of martial-arts cinema today. Born Li Lian Jie, Jet Li came into the world on April 26th, 1963 in Heibei, Beijing, China. He was the youngest of five siblings, and his father having died when he was but two, he had an increasingly protective mother. His mother’s strict parenting produced a boy too timid to risk learning the bicycle till his teens. It was in an ironic twist that his mother enrolled him one summer, when he was a boy of eight, in a school today known as the Beijing Sports and Exercises School. As luck would have it, Li was sent to the wushu class, where he turned out to be quite a success and was asked to return at the end of the season. This boosted his confidence in himself, and under the expert supervision of coach Wu Bin, he acquired the nickname of “Jet” for his quicksilver moves.

He was selected the following year to perform at the opening ceremony of Pan-Asian-African-Latin American Table Tennis Championships, where he earned praise from the then premier Zhou Enlai. This was the first time he had left home, and he followed it up with a rigorous training schedule under Bin. Two years later, in 1974, he entered the National Wushu Championships. Here he became the All-around Champion, impressing the judges with his skill at spear and swords. This gave him widespread fame as a child prodigy in martial arts, and he continued his strenuous routine at the special martial arts school, which he had been attending ever since he was nine.

He began to train with twenty of the finest young wushu exponents in China, and was sent the same year on a diplomatic mission to America, when China opened diplomatic relations with the country. Here he displayed his skill on the lawns of the White House for President Nixon. This was part of the program of his ongoing participation in state functions under which he was chosen to represent his country in front of foreign dignitaries. He won the All-China Youth Championships upon his return from America, and despite serious injuries, won the National Games the next year.
